Huntsville State Park

Last weekend was Amelia's first camping trip!  Even though August is the hottest month of the year in Texas, we got so lucky.  It was nice and breezy and the temperature was below 90 degrees.  Our little camper had lots of fun picking up rocks, playing in Katie's water bowl, and putting things in her mouth that are not supposed to be there.

Liz, DK and Jordan dropped by later on in the day and shared hotdogs and cold beer with us.
"Ok, Papa, I'm ready to go on the water now! "

Wild Flowers found on my hike with Katie.

This is our 13 year old Golden Retriever, Katie.  She still got it!

Elephant Evolved

Last year I painted an elephant with the intention of using it for Amelia's Birth announcement.  I never used it,  and ended up giving it away to a friend of mine who was having a little baby boy.  I've always wanted to repaint it, so this is the new version!

An eventful weekend

We rode our bikes to the local farmer's market and bought fresh eggs.

We visited The Beer Can House

Since last year  I've been painting a lot of illustrations.   It seems I'm going back to when I was a child and drew cartoons with my best bud.

Acorn & Amelia

Throughout the day I get to watch squirrels, woodpeckers and blue jays munch on the acorns that grow plentiful in the beautiful oak tree in our front yard.

Amelia is very interested in the painting process.  I gave her crayolas to play with but still managed to get a hold of my paint brush. Now. Where did she hide it?

Life & Baby

Hi! I'm back!

I'm pretty sure the last time I posted a drawing was a year or so ago before Amelia arrived to this beautiful world.

In a nut shell this past year I've been learning all the ins and outs of being a mother and my art has been on the back burner. So, yesterday I decided I wanted to start up again by trying to paint at least once a day. I hope it works!

Last week I found a blue jay feather in our yard and held on to it with the idea of painting it. Well, here it is!
