Houston had some rain this past weekend, but that didn't stop us from going to the San Jacinto Battleground State Historic Site sunday afternoon. The site includes the location of The Battle of San Jacinto and the USS Texas. It's about a 20 minute drive from our house so it ended up being a nice little half day adventure for the fam.

| The San Jacinto Monument was completed in 1939 commemorating the site of the Battle of San Jacinto. *Fun fact* It only lasted 18 minutes. About 630 Mexicans died, and 730 captured, while only 9 Texians died! First thing we did when we got home was watch The Alamo. The movie ends with the Battle of San Jacinto. To our disappointment it wasn't filmed here in Houston. |
