Houston had some rain this past weekend, but that didn't stop us from going to the San Jacinto Battleground State Historic Site sunday afternoon. The site includes the location of The Battle of San Jacinto and the USS Texas. It's about a 20 minute drive from our house so it ended up being a nice little half day adventure for the fam.
Waiting patiently on the ferry. |
The ferry is here! Excitement! |
Yes, we are those people that still use maps. |
Amelia has spotted the Mamarazzi. |
This old guy fought in WWI and WWII. Pretty impressive, eh? You can pay $20 and explore on board the ship. |
Details. |
View from the upper deck at 555 ft. of The San Jacinto Monument. Notice the battleship on the top right? |
Pollution! |
The reason why we can't eat more than 8 ounces of fish per month from these waters. |
So surprising the find such a beautiful park in the midst of oil refineries. |
